About

Hi there! I’m Xochitl Cornejo, a Mexican-American animator, illustrator, and background designer/painter based in Honolulu.

I have a BFA in Animation from the Maryland Institute College of Art. I love creating bright, energetic, and colorful illustrations of fantastical characters and worlds. My favorite genre is magical realism, my favorite ice cream flavor is matcha, and I try to befriend every cat I come across.

My debut picture book illustration project, Blue Jaryn’s “Payden’s Pronoun Party,” published by Page Street Kids, will be released in 2022.

I have worked with clients such as Scholastic Inc., Page Street Kids, Huffington Post, Hawaii Business Magazine, and more! I would love to collaborate on any editorial, publishing, kid lit, comics or motion graphics projects. For work inquiries I can be contacted at [email protected].
